Sam Powell, raised outside Dover, Delaware earned her bachelors degree in photojournalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. She worked for the college in the area of campus media support including, but not limited to, traditional/digital photography and digital image manipulation/restoration.

After moving to Chicago a few years later Sam became part of the dot com bust and decided it was time to rethink her options. With a strong desire to learn about real estate and potential real estate investing the decision to become an agent seemed sound. Because Sam is so dedicated to doing what's right for her clients and managing their needs the way she would want hers managed it was very clear from the start that the fit was a good one. With so many opportunities to learn and grow while working with great clients she continues to thrive in her position.

Sam and Jen, her life partner of over 14 years live in Chicago's West Loop. They have a strong sense of commitment to family and friends, and can be seen regularly attending weekly dinner nights with Friends who share hosting responsibilities and Friday Nights with their Family. They have two cats and a "Sunflower Yellow" 2005 VW Beetle.

Sam and Jen embrace Chicago land and all that it has to offer them as a gay, lesbian, trans gendered couple... They have found nothing but support throughout that GLBT communities and throughout Chicago in general... It's not about living in a GLBT area - because they tend to blend into the surrounding communities and everyone is welcome... it's about finding the right home in the right area's for the right price for the individual buyer...
