Frequently asked Questions and Answers

How much is a buyers agent
going to cost me?
|
 |
It depends. The vast majority
of sellers offer to pay the buyer's agents through the multiple
listing service (MLS). The MLS is a database of all properties
listed for sale through most real estate companies. In the
ad describing the property there is usually an offer to pay
a buyer's agent. In most cases, it won't cost you any more
to have an agent representing you than by working with the
seller's agent. But remember the seller's agent works for
the seller, not for you. They are obligated to help the seller
obtain the highest price for the property on the most favorable
terms for the SELLER! On the rarest of occasions, when the
seller will not pay a buyer's agent's fee, the buyer has the
ultimate veto If you don't think the deal is so good
that you want to pay your agent yourself, you don't have to
buy it.
