Representing Dallas:
Dallas

Dallas is a gay-friendly city with special enclaves throughout the area. The popular living areas include Oak Lawn, Oak Cliff and East Dallas. In the Oak Lawn area there are wonderful restaurants and nightlife. This older inner city area, where new townhomes and condominiums are being built, offers those looking for a home a variety of choices. This area also encompasses Turtle Creek, the home of the famous Turtle Creek Choral, a gay men's chorus.

An interesting area in Dallas is the West End Historic District. There visitors find shopping, restaurants, and nightclubs. Tourist attractions in the area include the John Neely Bryan Cabin, the one-time home of the founder of Dallas, and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Museum and monument at Dealy Plaza.

Some annual major happenings in Dallas are the Mardi Gras Party, Taste of Dallas, State Fair Parade, Motor Sport Expo, NBA Hoop-It-Up, and the Neiman Marcus Adolpheous Children's Christmas Parade. Nearby Fort Worth offers a wonderful zoo and a great film festival.

There are over 25 state parks within 100 miles of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Rolling prairies and woodlands abound. Fishing, boating, swimming, camping, biking, and hiking are available for visitors.
