Kentucky
Kentucky offers beautiful scenery, historical
sites, and much more. Known for wildflowers, horse racing, and
bluegrass music, there is so much to discover in Kentucky. What
a great place to call home.
Southern hospitality comes to mind when we think of Kentucky because of the romantic novels and songs given to this "Blue Grass State". Home to thoroughbred horses and the annual Kentucky Derby held at Churchill Downs this state has many noted horse farms in and around Lexington.
The University of Kentucky is also in Lexington. Besides hosting the Kentucky Derby, Louisville has the historic Haymarket, a market place for farmers' produce and the city also offers tours through a tobacco plant and a whiskey distillery. Mammoth Cave National Park is a great attraction for visitors.Cumberland Gap, where Daniel Boone blazed the Wilderness Trail, is an area rich in historic lore. Near Gilbertsville Kentucky Lake is one of the state's most famous recreation areas.
Two state parks are in that area: Kentucky Dam Village, and Kenlake. Natural Bridge State Park just west of Corbin has rugged mountains and fantastic rock formations. Just southwest of Corbin is the famous Cumberland Falls State Park. The sprawling man-made lakes of Kentucky offer swimming and boating and fishing throughout the state. The variety of activites, the historical sights, and the beauty within make Kentucky a spendid state in which to live.
