Phoenix really does offer it
all. The sixth largest city in the U.S. offers so many activities
within an hour's drive, such as hiking in mountains, fishing in
rivers and streams, or water skiing in lakes. You can also enjoy
the beauty of the Sonoran Desert on your own or with one of the
many guided tour groups.
In the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix is surrounded by twenty-two
cities supporting a rich cultural environment. Together they offer
shopping, arts, theater, resorts, and more.
Phoenix is named after the Phoenix Bird of Egyptian legend, a
bird that was burned in its nest and from the ashes a new and
more beautiful bird arose. Settlers felt that the town would rise
from the ashes of the ancient cultures who had occupied the land
so long before and grow into a new and more beautiful city.
The East Valley is a great area of the Phoenix
valley. While the East Valley is more spread out than downtown
Phoenix, we are a hot spot of the ever-growing Phoenix area. Tempe
offers all the summer fun you can want with ASU as the center
of the city (and all of the beautiful people...hehehe) with several
water parks, jogging and hiking trails, the Tempe Town Lake where
one can kyack, and other outdoor activitys.
Mesa is rich with history, many historical neighborhoods, parks,
lakes, and museums. The Mormon Church settled this area, and their
Temple is located here.
Chandler is an industrial city with Intel and Motorola as huge
employers. Chandler is also home to the newest area hot spot of
Ocotillo. Ocotillo is a master planned city within a city, with
gorgeous homes, lakes, parks, and shopping.
Gilbert is a city of family. Wide tree-lined streets are the norm
here, with the convenience of the city life while maintaining
the "good ol' days" mentality of life.
Ahwatukee is hot with great shopping, fabulous homes, and lots
of people. We joke that Ahwatukee is the world's largest cul-de-sac.
You will just have to see it to understand.
By far the East Valley is a great place to live. Theater, shopping,
outdoor activities, and space make the melting pot of the East
Valley in the Valley of the Sun. Come and see why we are the sixth
largest city in the USA!
