Nevada is a state of full of diverse and exciting things to do and see. From the glamorous exciting casinos with their first-class gambling and entertainment to the restful and beautiful parks with their wilderness areas or water features, there is something to appeal to everyone in this delightful state. Other areas of historical value to visit are Ely and its open-pit copper mine at Ruth, Goldfield, a famous old mining camp, Eiko, a major cattle and sheep ranching center, and Overton with its Lost City Museum showing relics of the ancient Pueblo Indian Settlement now submerged in Lake Mead. Not to be missed is Virginia City, site of Comstock Lode gold and silver discover, as well as the old opera house, church and saloons all with the old Western residential atmosphere.
State parks and national parks draw visitors from around the world. Berlin Ichthyosaur State PArk holds fossilized remains of giant fishlizard creatures. Towering rock arches and spires form eroded cliffs in Cathedral Gorge State Park. Scenic colored cliffs and deep canyons are sights to behold in the Kershaw-Ryan State Recreation Area. Preserved historic stone drawings and eroded red sandstone cliffs are in the Valley of Fire State Park. Visitors can see wilderness areas, bristlecone pines and limestone caverns at Great Basin National Park Lake Mead National Recreation Area is the largest reservoir in the nation. A variety of water sports are available there. Its' close proximity to Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam make it a desirable spot to visit and play for residents of Las Vegas, Henderson, and Boulder City. Pyramid Lake offers visitors a different setting with picturesque mountains and a bird sanctuary.
Las Vegas is the largest metropolitan city in the United States that was founded in the 20th century. Famous worldwide for its spectacular hotels and entertainment, this action-packed city is also home to a diverse community of people. With over 500 churches and synagogues, 779 acres of parks, and the action of "The Strip", as well as no state taxes, Las Vegas and its surrounding smaller cities are serious areas to consider when one decides to relocate. For those who love water, nearby is the Lake Meade National Recreational Area.
Gay bars and clubs are in and around the city. Two areas are the Paradise "Fruit Loop" area located in separate strip malls which also house a night club, bookstore and and nearby Hamburger Mary's. Off Sahara in the Commercial Center are more bars for individuals with different tastes including country western. In the Aladdin complex is the first gay club on The Strip.
